The MAREMED (MAritme REgions cooperation for MEDiterranean) project was adopted in the framework of the European MED programme. Its main aim is to improve the coordination of regional maritime policies, between themselves and with National, European and Mediterranean levels of governance. In order to set up an integrated policy, the main priorities must be considered and managed concomitantly. The project targets those constituents of maritime policy bearing an intrinsic transnational dimension. The project worked on those constituents of maritime policy with a strong transnational dimension, namely Integrated Coastal Zone Management, pollution, adaptation to climate change in coastal areas, fisheries and coastal and maritime data management.
