The bilateral project between the Office of the Environment of Corsica and the Maddalena Archipelago National Park comes to the adoption of the Franco-Italian Protocol of 1993. The goal is to create an International Marine Park in the Strait of Bonifacio (PMIBB), which takes the form of a European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC-PMIBB) carried out to provide a legal framework for joint actions between the two partners to encourage a continuity of activities conducted in space cooperation, in a logic of complementarity.
The project partners plan to develop and precisely implement the objectives of method and innovative management methods likely to produce a dynamic effect on the defined geographical area (the joint management plan), but also to testing of an energy plan pilots of two independent sites (island of Lavezzi islands Spread the Italian coast and the French coast), with the prospect of contributing to sustainable development of this common territory of Sardinia and Corsica.
