SIMORC (System of Industry Metocean data for the Off-shore and Research Community) is the result of the activities undertaken by major ocean data management specialists: MARIS (NL), BODC (UK) and IOC-IODE (UNESCO), and the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (OGP), involving participation of major oil & gas companies, that bring in their data sets. The information is mainly derived from metocean in situ data are as an important category of oceanographic and marine data, comprising observed parameters like sea level, waves, currents, sea temperature, conductivity, air temperature, air pressure, and wind. The focus of data sets regard the Oil&Gas sector.
